The property, also known as the Robert Dollar Building, was built in 1910 and greatly expanded in 1919 to serve as the headquarters building of the Robert Dollar Steamship Lines. Today the 11-story property is home to numerous retail and office tenants.

In 2006, Ownership's local asset manager engaged The CAC Group to value the property in the event of a sale. After working closely with Ownership's representatives to determine and the feasibility of achieving their goals and objectives, CAC rolled out a national marketing campaign to dispose of the asset, maximizing value for Ownership. By creating a thorough marketing package, which included The CAC Group's rock-solid financial underwriting and proprietary in-house market research, and by engaging investors from around the country interested in acquiring a one-of-a-kind historic San Francisco landmark, the Firm was able to consummate a sale of the asset to a strong local operator. CAC's in-depth knowledge of the local market and ability to leverage relationships with the investment community led to a successful close of escrow and top-of-the-market pricing for our client.
